LINE COOK

The Line Cook will assist in the successful operation of the culinary department, ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
• Maintain purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
• Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
• Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
• Operate and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
• Follow recipes and maintain high standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a high-volume hotel and restaurant environment as a Line Cook.
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or 3 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
• Passionate culinarian with great palette and sense of presentation.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in environment with time constraints.
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
• Must maintain a professional image and demonstrable leadership skills.
• Ability to lift 50lbs; sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time.
• Must work a flexible schedule including outside of normal business hours, i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Salary: CI$6.56– CI$14.00 per hour + gratuities
